First off, it's been raining for the past three day and even today, while it's not raining, it's miserably gray which makes me do two things: never want to get out of bed and consume copious amounts of hot chocolate and cookies.
This weekend, before all the rain came, was marvelous however. On Saturday morning Stephen and I were headed to base by 7:45 for the wine tour. I really enjoyed this trip. Our hosts were gracious, the food was delicious, and the company was superb. Stephen was able to purchase a few cases of wine to add to his collection and by 2:50 we were back at the apartment. The whole weekend I was fighting a cold of some sort so has soon as we got home I wanted to sleep for the rest of the day, but we had a flight dinner to go to in three hours so to keep myself awake I met a few friends in the piazza for coffee. I ended up not getting any coffee but the laughter did enough to rally my spirits. Stephen is a gem and picked up two people for the dinner which meant we had to leave earlier than we would have otherwise but like the wine tour the company was unbeatable so the extra driving was no trouble at all. For dinner we went to an agro-tourismo (not agro-trattoria like I said in my last post). Let me just sum up the whole evening by saying: I love Italian food. All of it. The service was great, the food was classically Italian, by the end of day I felt so blessed for everything I had done and everyone I had met throughout the trips.
I want to say I spent Sunday sprawled out on the couch in all directions watching The Office while drowning in junk food because that's all I felt like doing, but alas no. My real Sunday was spent accompanying Stephen back to base so he could do work and so I could do laundry and workout. AAAAND five hours or so later we were back at the apartment and I felt like death deep-fried. A hot bath helped and a great dinner a la Jessica did me no harm so under Stephen's persuasion by 8:45 I was back out with him to meet a couple Americans at a bar.
Monday was uneventful although I did get a stellar run out of it.
Tuesday, however, Tuesday is something to talk about. WE BOOKED AN APARTMENT FOR PRAGUE. That's right. I'm so excited! During the first week of April Stephen, Jessica, and I will in Prague for five days. I've spent most of today looking up things to do to fill our itinerary and I'm finding out filling in time won't be a problem at all. Prague managed to scoot by with minimal damage from WWII so many historical sights around the city are still open and in original form like Prague Castle, many religious sites, and perhaps most famous of all, Old Town Square and Charles' Bridge. I'm excited to learn about the history and have time to really see different areas of Prague since we will be there for so long. AAAAAH. ICAN'TWAIT.
In other news, my friends have picked a new song to make a video to. (Who can forget the magic of our last one?
Anyways, I hope everyone is enjoying their week. We leave tomorrow for a base in Aviano for a day, which reminds I still need to pack.
