I'm anticipating this will be a long post so let's just jump into it, shall we?
If It Makes Me Happy Monday (I'm easily pleased as you'll soon see)
Fizzy water
This website. He updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. It's a total nerd website but I can spend hours going through the archives. I forget why one of his comics was in my English book this year (maybe for the Love and Relationships chapter I don't know) but I'm glad it was.
"Warning: this comic occasionally contains strong language (which may be unsuitable for children), unusual humor (which may be unsuitable for adults), and advanced mathematics (which may be unsuitable for liberal-arts majors)." SO TRUE.
SIRMIONE* MAKES ME THE HAPPIEST
I went there two weekends ago with a few friends and then made Stephen take me back yesterday. It's now one of my new favorite places. Stephen said it reminded him of Key West a lot so if you're been there you can compare it to that for me it was totally new and a lot of fun.
I'm not sure of exactly everything there is to do in Sirmione but I wanted to go swimming so we did that and then explored the castle. The "beach" was all rocks and really just a corner of slightly less abrasive rocks were you can enter the water without breaking an ankle. I'm not used to swimming in lakes but it is a lot different than any ocean I've been to. The tide was coming in so I don't know if that made a difference but the water was rough. The first time I got in the water it knocked the wind out of me. I had to find a rock to balance on to catch my breath which wasn't easy since waves kept knocking me in the face. After that though I started to get a feel for the water and waves and really enjoyed it. The lull period between waves was much shorter than want I'm used to so as soon as you jumped one another one was coming right at you. Needless to say I got a nice ab and arm workout trying to stay afloat. Stephen stayed out of the water and read so after we both got our fill of the sun we went to the Castello di Sirmione. It was built right in the water and Stephen and I decided it was used for defense at one point but we didn't read the signs or ask anyone so we might be totally wrong on that. Either way it was very pretty and gave us a great view of the peninsula...let the photos commence.
Ciao!
