And my mom...ummm...she...ummm, well, she...let me explain it to you in pictures. But just know we've gotten very close lately.
I just took a 10 minute break from blogging to eat a second helping of lunch. I made veggie chili with sweet poh-tate-ohs in it with polenta on the side for nostalgia of my times in Italy. So very dramatic, and so very delicious it's sinful-I think your only supposed to enjoy food this much at Thanksgiving.
Last night on my way home from visiting my mama I stopped off at Amalfi's Pizzeria to grab a slice of pizza for dinner. I walked in and they were serving some very authentic looking dishes (with a heavy American mask). I ordered a slice of broccoli and tomato and a slice of spinach and tomato, but I think I might have said "spinaci e ricotta" instead of spinach and ricotta because the American girl didn't understand me but the Italian guy did and I was too tired to remember what just came out of my mouth. Bizzare, yes, but the guy threw in an extra slice of tomato and mushroom for me for free so any embarrassing moment that may or may not have occurred was totally worth it. I love Italians.
